Bread Upon The Waters is a not-for-profit organization registered as a 501(c)(3) for the purpose of assisting Christians in need. We are not a church, nor are we affiliated with any church. We are Christians helping Christians. Churches in the New Testament supported the work of the church that Jesus Christ built in AD 33 (Matthew 16:18). Jesus purchase His church with His blood (Acts 20:28). We are a human institution, not a church. We use this worlds goods to help feed and sustain Christians that we feel most appropriate to assist. Our articles of formation state clearly that no volunteer affiliated with Bread Upon The Waters receives wages or pay for their work. All funds received from donations are sent to the recipients so there is no “middle-man” to support. There may be an unusual circumstance that would require us to use a donation to pay for our website or equipment, but that would be requested of a donor in advance. All donors know where their support goes, or what it was used for. At present, we are supporting gospel preachers and Christians in poverty in the Philippines. Donors may request a special need for another Christian, but we make all final decisions. Another purpose of this organization is to provide people who donate their financial assistance a tax deduction. Giving to individuals in need cannot be a tax deduction unless the financial donation is given to a charitable organization such as ours. In light of this, we do not receive funds from any church. As we said before, we are Christians helping Christians. While we may send support to individuals associated with churches, we are not and will not act as a mediator between churches and other churches. Please contact us for more information.
